The dictionary defines hero as, “A person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his or her brave deeds and noble qualities.”
We thought we'd let a couple quotes by famous authors speak to the hero as well.
Oscar Wilde:
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation".
Joseph Campbell:
“If the path before you is clear, you’re probably on someone else’s. Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived. Follow the path that is no path, follow your bliss.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald:
"Show me a hero and I will write you a tragedy."
And, again, Joseph Campbell:
“We have not even to risk the adventure alone for the heroes of all time have gone before us. The labyrinth is thoroughly known....we have only to follow the thread of the hero path. And where we had thought to find an abomination we shall find a God. And where we had thought to slay another we shall slay ourselves. Where we had thought to travel outwards we shall come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone we shall be with all the world.”
Let us know about the hero journey's that you've been on.
